# WYMIS: What You Missed In School > WYMIS is a practical "thirteenth grade" workforce readiness and life skills program created by Dr. Barry K. Jackson, Ph.D.. It is a cohort-based, 8 to 12 week program for ages 16 to 26 that teaches the everyday skills school often leaves out: managing money, holding a job, communicating professionally, and navigating adult life. It has been piloted in Phoenix (AZ), Las Vegas (NV), and Memphis (TN). Key facts: - Full name: What You Missed In School (WYMIS) - Audience: graduating high school seniors and young adults ages 16 to 26; schools, community organizations, and workforce programs - Length: 8 to 12 week full program, delivered as a cohort - Positioning: "Building the bridge between education and execution." WYMIS complements what schools teach; it is not trying to recreate school. - Formats: One-Day Intensive (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, six 75-minute module sessions, groups of 20 to 30), 3-Day Applied Unit (hands-on, project-based), or 8 to 12 Week Cohort (all seven modules).
